We are a mobile application platform that connects healthcare facilities and individuals to qualified and experienced medical staff to fulfil temporary vacancies in a faster, easier, and safer way.
- Who is using Locum Apps?
Locum Apps give opportunities to medical staff such as doctors, nurses, caregivers, pharmacists, physiotherapists, lab technicians, and other types of healthcare staff to accept available shifts posted by nurse managers, HR managers and healthcare executives at their preferred hospital.
- Which hospitals are on Locum Apps?
Hospitals that have been used Locum Apps includes private clinics, hospitals, pharmacies, dental clinics and other types of healthcare facilities around Klang Valley and Penang such as iHeal Medical Centre, Sunway Medical Centre, Gleneagles KL, Prince Court Medical Centre, CVSKL, Bukit Tinggi Medical Centre, ParkCity Medical Centre, ALTY Orthopaedic Hospital, Ara Damansara Medical Centre, ReGen Rehab Hospital, and more! We are expanding throughout Malaysia so if you would like to take on jobs at different places, do let us know.

Search for “Locum Apps”
Once downloaded, please register and upload your documents to complete your profile
Your account will show ‘pending approval’. This can take 1 - 3 working days for our team to review your profile.
Once approved, find locum jobs that fits your personal schedule - all locum jobs are recorded in your app.
Click withdraw on the app once your job has been confirmed, and payment will be transferred directly to your preferred bank account in the next payment cycle.

REGISTRATION AND ELIGIBILITY
- How do I sign up as a locum?
Download the app and complete your profile by uploading your documents and filling in your work experience.
- What are the requirements to use Locum Apps?
If you are a doctor or nurse, you must have an Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) to use Locum Apps. APC is also known as “Sijil Perakuan Pembaharuan Tahunan” (PPT).
If you do not have a valid APC, you can still apply for roles as a confinement nurse, home nurse, caregiver, or volunteer.
- What documents do I need to upload?
Please upload your Annual Practicing Certificate (APC), degree/diploma certificates, and your NRIC/Passport for verification. Make sure the uploaded copies are clear and current. These documents help verify your identity, education, working experience, and professional status.

- How do I apply for services?
Select your service(s), upload your documents, and ensure you have relevant working experience in the service(s) you have applied for.
- What services can I apply for?
We have many types of services for all types of healthcare staff such as doctors, A&E nurses, ward nurses, OT nurses, ICU nurses, clinical assistants, medical assistants, caregivers, pharmacists, physiotherapists, lab technicians, and more! Please apply for services which are relevant to your educational background and working experience.
- How can I get approved for my service?
Please upload your documents, and ensure you have relevant working experience in the service(s) you have applied for. Application processing for approvals are usually completed in 1-3 working days but may take up to 5-7 business days during peak periods.
- Why is my service(s) not approved?
You may not have the relevant documents uploaded or the necessary experience required for the service.
- How do I accept jobs?
You are able to accept jobs for services which you have been approved for. Select the job that is available and click the “Accept” button.
JOBS
- What is a job?
A job is an available shift that is posted by a healthcare facility with a work location, number of hours (duration), and type of service required as per the job details. Always read the job details and job notes before accepting a job.
- How do I accept a job?
You are able to accept jobs for services which you have been approved for. Select the job that is available and click the “Accept” button.
- I don’t have an APC (Annual Practicing Certificate). Can I accept jobs?
If you are a doctor or a nurse, we are unable to approve your service(s) without an APC. If you do not have an APC, you can register for non-nursing services such as caregiver, clinic assistant, and volunteer.
We provide assistance for APC renewals for healthcare staff using Locum Apps. Please email us at contact@locumapps.com with your resume/CV attached and a brief description of your full and complete working experience for assistance with APC renewals.
- I only have RON (Retention of Name). Can I accept jobs?
If you are a doctor or a nurse, we are unable to approve your service(s) without an APC. If you do not have an APC, you can register for non-nursing services such as caregiver, clinic assistant, and volunteer.

- I have an emergency. Can I cancel a job?
Emergencies are unfortunate and unforeseen! Please cancel the job and contact your supervisor / person-in-charge at the work location immediately or as soon as possible if you need to cancel a job. The contact information can be found in the job details page. Please refrain from cancelling a job too often as you may be suspended from your service(s) and unable to accept jobs in the future.
- What happens if I cancel a job?

- I accepted a job and it was cancelled. Why was my job cancelled?
Just like how we sometimes go through emergencies and have to cancel, hospitals occasionally have unforeseen circumstances which require them to cancel too. For example, a healthcare facility may have low census or rescheduled shifts recently due to operational optimization(s)/circumstances. Locum Apps actively monitors and may also suspend healthcare facilities that cancel too often. Please inform Locum Apps if a job was cancelled less than an hour before your shift was supposed to start.
- I have arrived at the hospital. What do I need to do?
Open the app, select the correct job, and click “I Have Arrived” on the app. Please inform your supervisor / person-in- charge at the work location immediately or as soon as possible upon arrival at the hospital. Then, you may start your job timer. Arriving 15-30 minutes at your work location before the start of a shift is always highly recommended to prevent any unnecessary or unforeseen delays.
- How can I contact the hospital?
You can find the healthcare facility’s supervisor’s / person-in-charge’s contact information in the job details page. Alternatively, you may raise your enquiries and/or questions in-person at the work location. For any other enquiries, please email Locum Apps at contact@locumapps.com
JOB TIMER
- I have arrived for my shift at the hospital. How do I start my job timer?
Open the app, and select the correct job to view the job details. You can start your own job timer once your shift starts.
- My shift has ended. How do I stop the timer?
Open the app and click on the job after your shift ends. You can end your job timer on your own once your shift ends.
- When should I start my timer?
You can start your timer once your shift has started. Please arrive early (at least 15-30 minutes before your shift start time) to your work location to prevent any unnecessary or unforeseen delays, but your timer should only start once the job begins and not when you arrive. Some healthcare facilities may have different work policies at the work location compared to others. At some work locations, you may need to register manually on a physical or digital form, collect your scrubs, and/or confirm your attendance by notifying the supervisor / person-in-charge.
- When should I end/stop my timer?
You can end your timer once your shift ends. Please end your timer on time once your shift ends and inform your supervisor / manager in person at your work location. You may need to clock-in and/or clock-out manually depending on the healthcare facility’s location and/or work policies.
- I started/ended my timer at the wrong time. What should I do?
Please inform your supervisor / person-in-charge at the work location immediately after your shift ends or as soon as possible within 24 hours. If you are unable to locate them in-person, you can find their contact information at the job details page.
- My timer is wrong. How do I adjust my job timer?
You may inform and notify your supervisor / person-in-charge at the work location immediately after your shift ends if your timer is wrong. If you are unable to locate them in-person, you can find their contact information at the job details page. Please provide sufficient notice as soon as possible or within 24 hours after your shift ends. You should also email contact@locumapps.com for any issues with your timer.
- I have issues with my timer. Who should I contact?
You may inform and notify your supervisor / person-in-charge at the work location immediately after your shift ends if your timer is wrong. If you are unable to locate them in-person, you can find their contact information at the job details page. Please provide sufficient notice as soon as possible or within 24 hours after your shift ends. You should also email contact@locumapps.com for any issues with your timer.
PAYMENTS
- How much will I be paid?
Payment amount is calculated based on the number of jobs you have completed, the type of service rendered, and the number of hours (duration) worked.
- When will I get paid?
You may submit a payout request on the app once you have completed a job and the total balance available is reflected in your account. Payout requests are processed on a weekly basis according to the payment cycle. Please allow 5-7 business days for funds to be transferred to your bank account.
- How will I get paid?
Funds will be transferred to your bank account as per the bank information in your profile.
- What is the payment schedule?
We process payments on a weekly basis during working business days from Monday to Friday. Please submit a withdrawal request on the app before Tuesday 11:59pm for weekly payments to be processed during the week (business weekdays). Funds will be transferred to your bank account in 5-7 business days.
- Are there any deductions from my total payment amount?
There are no deductions from your total payment amount except for a RM30 deposit to activate your account. This will be withheld from your withdrawal once you have successfully completed your first locum job in the app.
This is not a charge to you. You can retrieve your RM30 if you ever choose to close your account with us. Simply send us an email and we will process your RM30 refund.
- Why is the payment amount different from what I expected?
Payment amount is calculated based on the number of jobs you have completed, the type of service rendered, and the number of hours (duration) worked. For timer issues, please contact your supervisor / person-in-charge at your work location as soon as possible or within 24 hours after your shift ends. You should also email contact@locumapps.com for any issues with your timer.
- How do I request payment for jobs completed?
Open the app, click “Payments”, and select “Withdrawal Request” to submit a withdrawal request for processing. Funds will be transferred in 5-7 business days on a weekly basis.
- How long does payment take to be transferred to my bank account?

- My payment amount is incorrect. Why did this happen?

HOW DO I COMPLETE MY PROFILE?
Enter your full name (as it appears on your ID or passport).
Enter your bank details (bank name and bank account number).
HOW DO I COMPLETE MY SERVICE REGISTRATION?
Click on "Register New Service".
Register for the service that you are experienced in.
Fill in your working experience in that specific service.
Procedures: Please write down the medical and nursing procedures that you have learned, such as post-basics, ACLS, etc.
Places of work: Write down all of your past working facilities (hospitals, clinics, centers, etc.).
Years of service: List the number of years you have been working professionally.
Fields: Write down the types of fields that you are specialized in.
HOW DO I GET PAID?
When will I get paid for my job?
Locum Apps schedules your payment weekly. You can expect your payment to be automatically transferred to your bank account between Friday and Monday evenings.
For jobs completed the week before, you can expect to receive your payment between the following Friday and Monday evenings.
Are there different rates for weekends and public holidays?
The rates for weekends and public holidays are the same as the regular rates, unless otherwise stated in the job description. Please check the job description and the rates carefully before accepting the job.
Does Locum Apps offer transport or travel allowance?
Locum Apps does not offer transport or travel allowance. However, you may check with the person in charge of your shift or read the remarks within the job description to see if the center you are working at provides any allowance.
WHAT SHOULD I KNOW BEFORE HEADING TO MY JOB?
Contact the person in charge via WhatsApp or phone call to confirm your meeting location, parking allowance (if any), attire, and job scope. If you are unsure of the attire, please wear dark-colored scrubs, dark-colored underwear, and covered shoes.
Be punctual for your shift. Please inform Locum Apps or the person in charge if you are running late.
Leave the best impression as you can. Your locum placement could potentially lead to a full-time job or contract locum one day.
Be familiar with the company's policies and procedures. This includes things like confidentiality and workplace safety.
Ask questions if you don't understand something. Do not assume. It is better to ask a question than to make a mistake.
Be professional at all times. This means being on time, dressing appropriately, and being respectful to your colleagues.
